Black kitchen cabinets. Depth, not drama.
Charcoal, slate, and matte indigo, used for weight and quiet rather than contrast alone.
Dark cabinetry is often sold as a statement. It works better as an anchor. Against a light-filled room, a deep perimeter or a single dark island gives the eye somewhere to rest, and makes the warm materials around it read warmer. The finish matters more than the colour: matte absorbs, gloss returns the light.
