Kitchen Remodeling

The kitchen a home gathers around.

Fully custom kitchens for Chesapeake and Hampton Roads. Designed around the way you cook, gather, and live, then built by the same team that drew them.

Fully custom

Designed for your home. Not from a catalog.

Layout, cabinetry, surfaces, lighting, and hardware are drawn as one composition. Materials are chosen for honesty and endurance: stone that wears in, wood that warms, metals that quiet with age.

Every kitchen begins with the room as it is. How light crosses it, where the house wants you to walk, what the structure will allow. Only then does cabinetry get drawn.

Layout and structure

Walls, openings, and circulation are reconsidered before a single cabinet is drawn.

Cabinetry and millwork

Storage planned around what you actually own, detailed to the inch of the room.

Stone and surfaces

Counters, backsplashes, and floors chosen together, in daylight, against each other.

Lighting

Ambient, task, and the quiet accent that makes a finished room feel finished.

Hardware and fixtures

The details your hands meet every day. Chosen deliberately, never rushed.

Appliances

Specified early and integrated, so the composition stays uninterrupted.

Our Method

Four phases. One team.

Design and construction under one roof, so what is drawn is what is priced, and what is priced is what is built.

01

Conversation

We begin in your home. We walk the rooms, listen to how you live in them, and understand what the house wants to become.

02

Design

Layout, materials, and light are drawn as one composition, and priced as they are drawn, so every choice is an informed one.

03

Selections

Stone, wood, finishes, and hardware, chosen deliberately and confirmed before construction begins. No surprises later.

04

Build

The team that designed your home builds it. A clear schedule, a clean site, and craftsmanship that holds up to daily life for decades.

Good to know

Custom kitchens, answered

What does a fully custom kitchen mean at Cavalier?
It means the room is designed around you, not around a catalog. Layout, cabinetry, surfaces, lighting, and hardware are drawn as one composition for your home and the way you cook, gather, and live in it.
Do you handle both the design and the construction?
Yes. Cavalier is a design-build firm: the team that draws your kitchen is the team that builds it. One contract, one schedule, and one point of accountability from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.
Can we see the design before construction begins?
Yes. Drawings, materials, and the price they carry are agreed before anything is demolished. You know what the room becomes, and what it costs, while changes are still inexpensive.
Can you work within the architecture of an older home?
We prefer to. Good remodeling listens to the house: proportions, sightlines, and materials are chosen so the new kitchen feels as though it has always belonged.
How do budgets work for a custom kitchen?
We price as we design, so cost is part of every decision rather than a surprise at the end. You approve a clear number before construction begins, and the choices behind it are ones you made knowingly.
How long does a kitchen remodel take?
It depends on scope. Because design and construction are planned together, the schedule is set early and holds with fewer of the delays that come from handing plans between separate companies. We share a realistic timeline after the first consultation.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes. Permitting and inspections are managed as part of the project, so what is approved matches what was designed and priced.
Where do you work?
We design and build across Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, and the wider Hampton Roads region. See our service area for details.
The rest of the house

One team for everything the kitchen touches.

A kitchen rarely stops at the kitchen. The rooms around it are designed and built by the same people, to the same standard.
