Roofing

The roof, done once and done right.

Architectural shingle and standing-seam metal roofing for Chesapeake and Hampton Roads. Replaced, flashed, and ventilated by a team that builds whole houses.

How we approach it

A roof is a system, not a surface

Shingles are the visible tenth of a roof. What decides how long it lasts is the deck beneath them, the water details at every edge, and whether the attic can breathe.

01

Start with what is there

Curling, granule loss, lifted ridge caps and tired flashing tell you where a roof actually is. We look before quoting, because what is found after tear-off is the usual reason a price moves.

Material is a real choice

Architectural shingles, standing-seam metal, and the flashing that ties either to the house. Each has a different lifespan and a different cost, and both are worth saying out loud.

03

The parts nobody sees

Underlayment, ice-and-water membrane at the vulnerable edges, valleys and step flashing. These are where roofs leak, so they are specified in writing rather than left to the day.

Left watertight and clean

Crisp ridge caps, closed valleys, immaculate flashing, and a property swept before we leave. The finished roof should look as deliberate as it is.

What we install

Two honest roofs

Shingle or metal, chosen to suit the architecture, the exposure, and the years you plan to live under it.

Architectural shingles

Dimensional asphalt shingles chosen for coastal wind ratings and the house's palette. The workhorse roof, specified properly.

Standing-seam metal

Long-lived, clean-lined, and at home on porches, additions, and whole roofs alike. Metal earns its keep in Hampton Roads weather.

The details that decide

Underlayment, flashing, drip edge, and ventilation are where roofs actually succeed or fail. Ours are detailed and inspected like structure, because they are.

Repair when honest

Localized damage on a young roof is often a repair, not a replacement. We assess plainly and tell you which one you actually need.

Thinking ahead

Planning an addition or sunroom too?

Rooflines and tie-ins interact. It helps that the team replacing your roof also designs additions and sunrooms. One plan, no rework.

Go deeper

Choosing the roof itself

Metal roofing and asphalt shingles each have a page of their own. If the roof is leaking rather than failing, start with roof repair, and see gutters for the roof edge.

Good to know

Roofing, answered

What roofing do you install?
Architectural asphalt shingles and standing-seam metal, with the underlayment, flashing, and ventilation details that decide how long any roof actually lasts. The roof is chosen to suit the house, not the other way around.
Repair or replace?
We assess honestly. Localized damage on a young roof is often a repair; widespread wear, failed flashing, or a roof at the end of its service life is a replacement conversation. You will get a plain recommendation, not a sales pitch.
Does a new roof matter for a future addition or sunroom?
Very much. Rooflines, tie-ins, and ventilation all interact. One reason it helps that the team planning your roof also designs additions and sunrooms.
