Exterior Remodeling

Exterior remodeling, from the outside in.

Roof, siding, openings, and outdoor rooms. Designed and built as one composition for Chesapeake and Hampton Roads homes, by one accountable team.

How we approach it

The exterior is one system

Roof, siding, gutters and windows all manage the same water. Replacing them one at a time, years apart, is how the seams between them end up as the weak point.

Assess the whole envelope

Roof, walls, openings and drainage looked at together in one visit. Problems at the exterior almost always turn out to be a handoff between two of them.

02

One palette, decided once

Siding, trim, roof, gutters and window frames chosen against each other rather than in sequence. This is the difference between a house that reads composed and one that reads accumulated.

Sequenced so seams are right

Roof before siding, siding before gutters, flashing woven in as each goes on. One crew running the order means no seam is left for someone else to get wrong.

Finished together

The result of doing it in one pass is that everything meets correctly and everything ages at the same rate.

Four disciplines

One exterior, not four projects

When the same team plans the roof, the siding, the trim, and the openings, the house reads as a single thought, and the waterproofing details between trades belong to one contract, not three arguments.

Good to know

Exterior remodeling, answered

What exterior work do you take on?
Decks and porches, roofing, siding and gutters, and windows, doors, and skylights. The whole shell of the house, handled by one accountable team so materials, colors, and details agree with each other.
Why have a design-build firm do exterior work?
Because the exterior is one composition. When the same team plans the roof, siding, trim, and openings, the house reads as a single thought, and the flashing, ventilation, and waterproofing details between trades are owned by one contract, not argued between three.
Do you handle storm or age-related replacement?
Yes. Worn roofs, tired siding, and failing windows are everyday work for us. We assess honestly: if a repair serves you better than a replacement, we will say so.
Where do you work?
